Does Map My Day require an account?
No. Map My Day works without any account or sign-up. You install it, grant location access once, and it starts mapping your days.
Does it upload my location history?
No. Your location history is stored on your device. There are no servers collecting your coordinates. You can optionally enable sync through your own private iCloud account.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Location logging works offline because it runs on the device. An internet connection is only needed for things like maps, weather and AI trip suggestions.
Does it drain the battery?
No. Map My Day uses motion-efficient location technology designed to capture your day with only a small impact on battery life.
Can I import old trips?
Yes. You can scan your photo library so Map My Day recognizes places and trips you took before installing the app, and earns badges for them.
Can I export my data?
Yes. You can export your complete history — visits, badges and trips — from within the app.
Can I use it without iCloud?
Yes. iCloud sync is optional. Without it, everything simply stays on the device it was recorded on.
Does it work on Apple Watch?
Map My Day is an iPhone and iPad app. Workouts recorded in Apple Health — including those from an Apple Watch — appear on your timeline as routes, but there is no separate Apple Watch app.
Is it available for Android?
No. Map My Day is available for Apple devices only (iPhone and iPad, and it also runs on Apple Vision Pro).
Is it completely free?
Yes. Map My Day is free, with no advertisements and no in-app purchases.
How is it different from Apple Maps or Google Maps Timeline?
Map My Day is a dedicated travel journal: it turns your movement into a replayable timeline, statistics, badges, photo maps and trip planning. Your history stays on your device with no account, rather than living inside a cloud profile tied to a larger platform.
